Rick Owens - Fall/Winter 2009 - Hi Top Trainers

Slightly avant garde and every bit rock and roll, Rick Owens, is favored by rockstars for his minimalist approach to color and dramatic silhouettes. Other than asymmetrical jackets and flowy tops of interesting proportions, the designer’s sneakers are also known to be cult favorites and ebay hits.
This season, Owens is back at the sneaker game with two pairs of finely crafted kicks made from premium materials to accentuate the simple yet striking design.

This hi-top trainer takes a play on proportions with an over-sized tongue and adds a little bit of a rocker edge (without being too overt) with a side zipper (also utilitarian for those who dislike lacing up).

The sneakers come in two colorways, a white and another, black. The white version is made from supple, cream-washed premium leather while the black version dons a fine black grain leather.

The black and white version have slightly different styling as the white one has a more traditional sneaker look with its perforated toe box. The black version is slightly more dramatic with chunky quilted panels on the ankle.

And true to Rick Owen’s minimalist passion, there are no excessive logo embellishments on the shoes, except for a specially designed graphic pack on the inside of the tongues.
