New Balance 576 – “France”

With the World Cup around the corner, there has been no shortage of nation inspired shoes being churned out by various brands. For the first time in its history, New Balance will salute a country, with this special 576 model dedicated to France.

This pair uses not only the colors, but the arrangement of the French Flag. Blue and red suede, on the toe and heel respectively, surround white leather used for the mid panels. Embroidered on the back of the shoe is the French flag. The New Balance 576 “France” drops in limited numbers on May 1st at the New Balance pop-up store at L’Imprimerie in Paris.

Black/Deep Forest/V. Maize Kobe V

In Black/ Deep Forest/ Varsity Maize, there’s no word just yet as to whether or not Kobe will be wearing these on-court, but it’s great to see Nike Basketball step a bit outside of the predictable color palette and drop these. Tommy Hilfiger x Keith Haring - Limited Edition Footwear Collection

Not just a marriage of the Americana epitome of art, culture and style, the latest collaborative effort between classic American label, Tommy Hilfiger and late graffiti artist-cum-activist, Keith Haring, brings together two foundations with deep roots in philanthropy as well. While Haring is renowned for his pop bubbly figures and involvement in the urban street culture of the 80s, the artist’s Keith Haring Foundation puts the artist on a different spotlight where he contributes conscientiously towards social causes his art so often speaks of.


The foundation was founded a year after haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1989, and aims to provide funding and imagery to AIDS organizations. Meanwhile, Tommy Hilfiger founded the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation to empower America’s youth and has supported a wonderful portfolio of non-profit programs.


The collaboration between both parties comes in the form of a limited edition footwear capsule collection that has just launched at colette today. The collection sports a wide range of footwear including sneakers and rain boots for men, women and children.









Shown at the exclusive preview is a cheerful set of low, mid and hi-top sneakers featuring Haring’s signature artwork in various styles. Low-top laces, low-top Velcro… some pairs are bolder with allover prints and others are more subtle with a colorblock upper and Haring prints on midsoles. The collaboration is currently available at the special Tommy Hilfiger x Keith Haring corner in colette but it’s official launch will be this coming September, when these limited edition kicks will be made available to specialty footwear stores and select department stores in Europe.

adidas TS Supernatural Commander Dwight Howard Magic Beast

adidas and Dwight Howard are set to unveil the adidas TS Supernartural Commander on Christmas Day with the Magic Beast adidas TS Supernatural Commander. The Magic Beast adidas TS Supernatural Commander is inspired by Superman's costume and features a Black speckled upper inspired by Outer Space with Yellow/Red straps, a Blue midsole, a Red outsole, and a Red suede ankle.

From a tech perspective, the adidas TS Supernatural Commander features three straps across the body for lockdown, adidas Formotion, adidas Torsion, and adidas adiPrene.

Dwight is set unveil the Magic Beast adidas TS Commander on Christmas Day in a big matchup against the Boston Celtics. The adidas TS Commander itself, is set to release in 2010.

eYe JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS x New Balance 576

Japanese designer Junya Watanabe teams up with New Balance as part of the eYe Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons collection. They worked on the 576 and gave the sneaker a look, that looks to be inspired by a classic boot. It comes in dark red leather, a tonal upper and hiking boot laces.

The eYe JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS x New Balance 576 is available now at the flagship store in Hong Kong’s Central district with a retail price of $1950 HKD (approximatley $250 USD).

Tamiya x New Balance 574

New Balance link up with RC toy car makers Tamiya on a new collaboration of interest. Based off Tamiya’s popular Dash-1 Emperor car design, the company designed a new version of the 574 featuring patent leather uppers with star eyelets and the #49 embroidered on the tongue.

The sneakers also come equipped with its own Dash-1 Emperor available in two colorways (each limited to 248 units) and a messenger bag which looks to be produced by Porter, who made the last series of bags for Tamiya.

The kicks are now available through select retailers.
