New York graffiti artist Haze and Stussy have partnered up with PRO-Keds to hit us with three new colorways for the Royal Plus low.
The silhouette may be subtle and low cut, but the prints are sure to stand out. Haze designed the pseudo-camouflage patterns in three different color palettes, including grey/black, olive/cream and brown/green. The patterns feature a mixture of dots and stars, as well as layered color schemes.
Right now we’re seeing this sneak peek, and more information is sure to follow, but these are expected to hit the shelves soon.
Most of us have owned at least one of his inventions in a lifetime as Frank Rudy is known as the person responsible for inventing the Nike Air we have grown to love. Aged 84, Rudy passed away in his Californian home on December 13th. He was an avid inventor with 250 patents under his name resulting from his background in aerospace engineer in the military and later on moving across various industries to provide his new ideas.
Nike founder Phil Knight had tried on the prototype sneaker with Air (a cushioning unit filled with pressurized gasses) in 1977 and the rest is history. From then Nike had come to release the Nike Air Tailwind (1979) then Air Force 1 (1982) to the spawning of the 1987 “Revolution” campaign in which Nike Air Max 1 was launched showcasing visible Air for the first time. After this revolution Nike has been synonymous for Air and its comfort as that tradition stays alive.
Nike CEO Mark Parker reflects that “Frank Rudy holds a singular place in the pantheon of Nike innovation” and that “his relentless creativity and focus on solving problems was, in many ways, the template for how Nike pursues performance to this very day.”
Also Rudy was known to be in close contact with doctors in Ohio and New York to fund and help with cancer research which he had dedicated his life to. Frank Rudy will not be forgotten as Nike prepares to launch the “Fresh Air” campaign in 2010.
Just previewed by Andrew Bunney, Creative Director of Dr. Martens, is a pair of collaborative Dr. Martens boots with uniform experiment. Rather than jumping straight to the classic 8-eye, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Hirofumi Kiyonaga’s joing venture, uniform experiment, creates a new model which at first glance, retains the slim leather ankle top of the classic 8-eye, but actually only has 7 eyelets.
The new kicks infuses the iconic men’s brogue shoes, giving the usually tough Dr. Martens boots a sophisticated dandy twist. The perforated brogue details run all the way from toe to ankle, and is redolent of an elongated brogue shoe.
As these boots are hi-tops, the look is slimmer and tighter than the usual brogue shoes, since the decorations visually moves the viewer’s line of vision up vertically as well. While nothing is revealed for the release yet, it seems like Dr. Martens will be gaining a new fan following with these boots donning a contemporary classic twist.
This is what happens when you pull a 10th grade bio-class and pull an AJ11 apart at the sole. You’ll need a box cutter, needlenose pliars and a screwdriver, and off comes the sole, and the icey (yellowed) bottoms from there.
With the outsole gone, you get a good sense for how massive the carbon fibre spring plate really is. Flip that jenx over and you’ll be able to strip out the full-length Air sole that was to be the last non-Zoom Air Jordan (still is).

Last week Kobe Bryant officially unveiled the Nike Zoom Kobe V on the NBA court. Sometime down the line, Nike and Kobe are going to introduce the Nike Zoom Kobe V Make Sense. Details are still forthcoming but from the looks of the sneaker, the Make Sense Kobe V looks to be a more ruggedized version of the ZKV with a full mult-panel leather upper, stitching instead of Flywire, and a large heel tab. It almost looks like an Nike Zoom Kobe V ACG.
As part of their Make Sense roll out, Nike is set to release the Dark Knight Nike Zoom Kobe V Make Sense which features a Black upper and Metallic Blue accents.

Following up this Summer's Asia exclusive Nike Dream Season, Nike is set to release the Nike Dream Season II. The Nike Dream Season II follows in the vain of the Nike Zoom Kobe line, specifically the 4 and the 5, and features a low cut, Flywire, and XDR Blade traction.
No confirmed release date as of now but, I'd expect the Nike Dream Season II to drop in the Summer as an Asia exclusive.
Carmelo Anthony may have spent only one year at Syracuse, but when you win a national championship, you tend to remember it. And it looks like this Jordan Melo M6, which is set to release in February, was designed to pay tribute to his alma mater.
White leather is used on the upper to construct a majority of this one, while Midnight Navy swoops in on the midfoot piece. That same hue is used on the midsole stitching, while Orange Blaze appears on the Jumpman and Melo logos.
The Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) has already seen quite a few striking colorways, including the Bruce Lee edition in black and yellow, the “away” edition that Freshness covered extensively, and the “chaos” edition. Today, we have a look at what is being dubbed the “Dark Knight” edition that looks like it could be the team shoe for Dwight Howard and the rest of the Orlando Magic. In this model, there are few bells and whistles as far as the material is concerned.
The upper is a simple black and royal blue with a silver-outlined swoosh. The soles appear to be a bit translucent, and the heel collar is made of an intricate woven diamond material. As far as simplicity goes, this is the most straightforward Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) yet.
No word on any official release for this colorway is available yet.
Nike’s latest hi-tech release the Lunarlite Hyper Ventilate sees them combine some of their latest innovations into one, super light weight and ventilated shoe. It features the springy yet light Lunar sole with an upper made from Torch fabric, a new product that uses a mesh system to give feet the ultimate breath-ability, with the best comfort and support.

adidas and Dwight Howard are set to unveil the adidas TS Supernartural Commander on Christmas Day with the Magic Beast adidas TS Supernatural Commander. The Magic Beast adidas TS Supernatural Commander is inspired by Superman's costume and features a Black speckled upper inspired by Outer Space with Yellow/Red straps, a Blue midsole, a Red outsole, and a Red suede ankle.
From a tech perspective, the adidas TS Supernatural Commander features three straps across the body for lockdown, adidas Formotion, adidas Torsion, and adidas adiPrene.
Dwight is set unveil the Magic Beast adidas TS Commander on Christmas Day in a big matchup against the Boston Celtics. The adidas TS Commander itself, is set to release in 2010.
Taka Hayashi has already done some great work with Vans Vault for the year of 2009, but it doesn’t stop there, as the two keep the ball rolling for 2010. The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Spring 2010 Collection includes two newly designed sneakers: two colorways each for a high and lowtop.

Yi Jianlian’s Nets may not be very good, but from a footwear perspective, he gets to wear some pretty nice PEs. His other Nike Zoom Skyposite PE used an all white upper with navy and red accents. Navy blue and white fade into one another vertically over the foamy upper. Red is used as an accent around the tongue and on the heel stripe and pull tab. A white Swoosh matches the outsole and laces. “Yi” appears on the tongue, similar to the other PE linked above.

When Christian Dior started the French luxury couture house in 1946, his concept was simple and unrelated to menswear– he wanted to make clothes to embellish the female body. Thus, with a female-centric mission, Dior Homme didn’t appear until 2001 when Hedi Slimane was appointed Creative Director for the label and revolutionized the concept of menswear. Dior Homme started with a little rock and roll and slim-fitted androgynous silhouettes that were as popular with men as they were with women. When Hedi Slimane bowed out in 2007, Kris Van Assche inherited the Dior Homme throne and brought in his own aesthetics. Unlike Slimane’s fitted visions, Van Assche delivers a sense of Oriental deconstructionism with doses of casual, refined classic references that is an interesting twist off the Antwerp minimalism.
Under Van Assche’s creative guidance, Dior Homme’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection is a strong line-up of solid casuals adapted from classic menswear staples. The twist on the classic occurs in shapes and volume, as blazers lengthen, widen, and become more architectural yet wisps around the body, fluid to movement. Easy, breezy comes in both shape and material, as sheer seems to be a running concept that not only dominated the women’s runway but has made its way over for the lads. Thus, in terms of footwear, Van Assche keeps the kicks in line with the rest of the outfit and opts for luxury sneakers that are prevalent but difficult to nail these days.
But, if anyone could get it right, there is no doubt Van Assche would hit the right spot as he had with his own Spring/Summer 2010 sneakers that take a major play on wrapped and overlapping bunched laces, and is slightly reminiscent of vintage bondage. Carrying the same design sentiment over to Dior Homme, Van Assche mixes the bundle of laces wrapping the ankle with Slimane’s touch of rock through a zipper running down the heel. The colors are kept neutral and simple as of the label’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection in tan, grey, black and white. Everything remains relatively under-embellished otherwise, and the Dior Homme logo is a small embossed body on the side panel.

The top tier silhouettes that will be featured on NBA courts and at NBA All-Star Weekendnext February are the updated Commander and Creator lines in the form of the TS Supernatural Creator and the TS Supernatural Commander, both of which feature adiPRENE+ and ForMotion technology tooling.
Also present in this adidas Basketball preview is the adidas First Step which features adiPRENE+ and uses the same tooling as the current adidas Speed Cut model, along with a brief glimpse of the adidas Young Guns shoe which Counter Kicks was the first to show images of here.
